Welcome to Chinesease. By accessing or using our website and application at chinesease.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
By creating an account or using any part of the Chinesease service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and that you accept these terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Chinesease provides an online Chinese language learning platform offering flashcards, listening comprehension passages, writing practice, grammar lessons, speaking practice, and vocabulary tools for the HSK 1–5 examinations. The service is provided as-is for educational purposes.
Chinesease offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription:
Features may be added, modified, or removed at any time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes where possible.
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly ($8/month) or annually ($58/year) through Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us to charge the payment method on file at the start of each billing period.
You are responsible for keeping your username and password secure. You must not share your account with others or use another user's account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abuse, or are inactive for extended periods.
You agree not to:
All content, branding, software, and materials on Chinesease - including the vocabulary data, audio, passages, grammar content, and the Chinesease name and logo - are owned by or licensed to Chinesease. You may not reproduce or redistribute them without our written permission.
HSK vocabulary lists are derived from publicly available official HSK word lists published by Hanban / the Chinese Ministry of Education.

Each of these services has its own terms and privacy policies, which apply to their respective services.
Chinesease is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will help you pass any particular examination. Use of the service is at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chinesease and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data or loss of revenue.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. However, if you are located in a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws that provide you with stronger protections than those described here, those protections will continue to apply.
If you are located in the European Union, you may also have rights under EU consumer protection law. Users in Australia are protected by the Australian Consumer Law. Users in the United Kingdom are protected by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable UK legislation.
We aim to resolve disputes amicably. If you have a concern, please contact us at hello@chinesease.com and we will do our best to address it promptly. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be submitted to the courts of Ontario, Canada, which will have non-exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing in this clause limits your right to seek relief in your local courts.
